Solar Storms of 2012, 2013 & 2014: Loss of Electricity: How to Survive Thoughts by Laurens Wright

The Ball of Spewing Gas, OUR SUN!
Are we ready for the problems associated with solar flares that can cause major problems with the electrical grid?
The closer we get to the massive sun flares major ejections that will happen in 2012 till the end of 2013, are we ready for the loss of the electrical grid?
Coronal Mass Ejections
NASA has reported that the Coronal Mass Ejections
from the sun would be more of a problem because
of our Earth's magnetic field has some holes that
will allow the sun's particles to cook the power grid.
Could we survive without electricity for a week,
a month, a year, or even 5 to 10 years?
Could we even survive a week?
WITHOUT ELECRICITY WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?
Without electricity, what would happen to our society?
Without electricity, what would shut down?
Without electricity, what would quit?
Without electricity, how long could you live in the area of the country that you are living?
survive the end of the world

Society would Fall
Just what runs on electricity? In our society, almost everything that we have is associated with electricity. The food, water, clothing, transportation, fuel, lights, heat, prisons,
communications, ships, military, raising crops, and cooling need electricity as part of the process. This electricity, if discontinued or disrupted, could send the world back hundreds of years in development.
THE SUN IS WAKING FROM SLEEP !!!
NASA has stated that the sun has been quiet for some time and now is starting to become alive with movement, solar flares and solar activity. These so called solar flares, or SOLAR MASS EJECTIONS, can cause total chaos and disorder to our electrical systems, including transportation, communication and the welfare of most people. There are more than 7 billion people living on Earth now and it takes advanced, mechanical equipment to produce enough food to feed this many people.
With this many people, it takes massive amounts of water for the people’s survival of living in those cities and towns. The water filtration and purification systems of those enormous cities and towns use massive amounts of electricity to provide this function. In the large cities, the high rise buildings and sky scrapers use electricity for elevators, to circulate fresh air to the different floors, to pump water to the upper floors, to heat and cool the occupants, to keep the food frozen, for communication, and for security.

In September 1859, a solar flare erupted so intense that the explosion itself was visible to the human eye. A ferocious geomagnetic storm ensued in which Northern Lights descended as far south as Cuba, the Bahamas and Hawaii. Meanwhile, telegraph eng
SENDING FOR HELP DURING AN EMP
The concern living in a large metropolis during a power or electrical outage for some time, should be of imposing distress to anyone living in a very large city or town. The first responders, the police, the fire department workers and servants could not be relied on during any disturbance because of many reasons.
Number one concern would be that they would be trying to get their own family to safety. If there were still some people willing to help, without electricity, the transportation would not be available, the elevators would not be working, there would be total darkness at night, people would be in a panic mode and then the sheer numbers of people needing help would soon triumph even the best of the crisis responders.

Some Suggestions for EMP Survival

The SOLAR STORMS, THE EMP’s, THE CORONAL MASS EJECTIONS, and the magnetic clouds and vibrations may be the cause of massive electrical power outages, causing disruptions in life as the world knows it.
What happens today may be the reason that your life might be spared. So what would you need to do to see that you continue your existence longer? Here are some suggestions:
1) Do not stay in the large city.
2) Have ample supply of fresh drinking water
3) Have ample supply of food that is edible, with long shelf life
4) Have back-ups
5) Have some ways to keep warm
6) Have changes of clothing, including long underwear
7) Have some way to prepare food
8) Have high calorie, high energy food
9) Stay calm; always have another plan
10) Have reliable friends, neighbors and contacts
While no one knows the future, the need for belonging, neighbors and friendships helps every one in life. Until the true survival mode kicks into the person, the reality will not be known of what that person will or will not do. To survive, would a person eat certain kinds of food that would have never been eaten, dig in a dumpster for food, or drink water out of a river?

A great read LAURENS WRIGHT.
A very interesting hub which raised many thoughtful questions! Keep at it :)

Solar storm is a reality.I am not sure how many countries has disaster recovery plan to fight against a solar storm.I guess our telecommunication systems is the most vulnerable to magnetic storm.Very interesting write-up and thank you so much for the survival suggestions.
It strikes me that the single biggest problem is going to be water. We use a tremendous amount of water and storage systems won't last but a few hours. Most people have enough drinkables on hand to make it a few days, but what then? Many cities don't have rivers nearby, but even if they do there will be hundreds of thousands gathered around it.
If an EMP takes out computers in our cars and trucks, the problem will likely be how to bury millions before disease strikes. Without transportation the water becomes an even bigger and very immediate problem.

Interesting article. I may be wrong but my understanding is that telephone and many other services and even vehicles' computer systems making most cars and trucks useless. The picture you paint is dour enough without adding what may well be unfounded worries. Thanks for the interesting read.
